Our Story
At Stephens Family Estate, wine is more than what we do — it’s part of who we are.
Family-owned and operated by Donna, Dale, Kade and Gina Stephens, our winery is built on generations of experience, passion and a shared commitment to creating wines that bring people together.
Between the four of us, we bring decades of knowledge across vineyard management, winemaking, sales and marketing, with experience spanning both Australian and international wine industries. Every stage of the process is hands-on — from caring for the vineyard through to crafting and sharing each bottle.
But our story at this winery started long before Stephens Family Estate began.
Years ago, Donna and Dale worked vintages in this very winery — long before owning it was ever a thought. We have photographs of those early days, and one of our favourites is of Kade as a two-year-old sitting amongst the grapes during vintage. Those moments became part of our family story before we ever imagined they would become part of our future.
Today, returning to the same place to make it our own feels like coming full circle. Now, as we continue creating wines here with our own growing family — and Kade and Gina's nearly one-year-old daughter becoming part of the next generation of memories — it reminds us that wine has always been about more than what’s in the bottle.
We believe great wine starts in the vineyard. Our approach to winemaking focuses on minimal handling, allowing the fruit to speak for itself and preserving the purity, character and expression found in every vintage.
